Valley Farm Puppy School takes pups from seven to 12 weeks of age. A new course starts every two months.
Each course is six weeks long and covers a range of topics. We teach puppy parents how dogs learn, positive reinforcement training techniques, and good pet care. Pups learn basic obedience commands such as sit, down, recall and walking on a leash.
At this age puppy playtime is a vital part of learning; the classes allow safe interactions with other pups and people. Much of the training is linked to fun games to keep everyone happy.
Our teachers have been trained by Dr Quixi Sonntag, Specialist Animal Behaviourist, in dog behaviour and puppy training.
Each course usually takes place on a Tuesday or Thursday evening from 19:30 to 20:30.
The classes are held at the practice and offer a chance for puppies to become familiar with the sights, sounds and smells of the practice in a positive atmosphere.
After each class there is homework and you can document your puppy’s progress in their personal training journal.
Cost per course is R850.
