Acupuncture is the ancient Chinese practice of inserting fine needles into the body at certain points. This is done to manipulate the flow of energy within the body to treat many physical and mental conditions.
Dr Arpana Bhagwan has been trained in traditional Chinese acupuncture for animals. Although acupuncture in animals is mostly used for the management of chronic pain, Dr Arpana is trained to use it in the treatment of a range of conditions.
Initial consultation assessment and treatment usually takes about an hour with follow-up treatments of around 30 minutes each. A course of acupuncture treatments is required for most conditions. For chronic conditions such as chronic pain, and for allergic and inflammatory conditions ongoing treatments will be required on a weekly basis.
Acupuncture is most often used as an adjunct to conventional Western medicine therapies.
Acupuncture appointments must be pre-booked with Dr Arpana Bhagwan Monday to Friday.
