Meet the Valley Farm Cats
There have always been cats at Valley Farm although sadly, two of the original cats, Podge and Jealousy (Jelly!) have gone to kitty heaven. Recently we had to put Tracey our much loved, larger than life tabby to sleep.
But Tinkerbell (Stinky) the black cat, although getting on in years, is still very much with us. You will often see Stinky sleeping in the waiting room in any patch of sun she can find. She likes to say hello to visiting cats through their carry baskets. Stinky does not ever go outside and, like most cats, spends about 23 hours a day sleeping! At times she can be found loitering outside the hospital doors. She is much loved by the nurses and gets fed yummy treats that are well worth the wait!
Alley cat, the big (let’s not say fat!) calico and white cat, has been with us for about four years. She came in as a rescue case from Wet Nose for treatment and never left! Alley is very talkative, growling and meowing when she is fussed. Her tail will swish but she does not bite or scratch. Alley makes it her personal mission to try out EVERY cat bed in the shop. She will mountaineer across bags of food and up shelves to reach even the highest bed. Alley will venture outside but only for five minutes at a time. Alley loves affection and will lie on the desk to be fussed.
All our cats are street-wise when it comes to dogs but do sometimes get the odd scare when people bring dogs in off leash. When the cats feel they need a break from the noise and bustle of the day they will adjourn to the seminar room or office upstairs, where they can nap in peace.
We feel very honoured to have two wonderful cats to spend our day with. There is nothing like a cat to de-stress and relax you!
